Garth Frizzell

Garth has always believed that leadership begins with service and is rooted with integrity.

A lifelong resident of Prince George, Garth is an entrepreneur, post-secondary educator, community volunteer, and experienced municipal leader who has dedicated decades to helping his community grow stronger.

Whether serving on City Council, representing Prince George on the national stage, teaching future business leaders, or volunteering locally, his approach has remained the same, to listen carefully, bring people together, and work respectfully toward practical solutions.

The heart of Garth’s life is his family. He and his wife, Sue, have built a long and lasting partnership grounded in love, respect, and shared values. Together, they have made Prince George their home, raising a family and building deep roots in the community they cherish.

When he’s not serving the community, Garth enjoys riding his motorcycle and writing.

Garth has never stopped giving back. During wildfire evacuations, when families were forced to leave their homes, he volunteered his time to assisting where needed, everything from reaching out to evacuating communities to walking evacuated pets so owners could focus on caring for their loved ones, knowing their animals were safe and cared for.

These acts reflect the kind of person he is: someone who quietly steps forward when help is needed without seeking recognition or expecting anything in return.

Throughout his years of service, Garth has volunteered with community organizations, supported local events, mentored emerging leaders, and championed initiatives that strengthen Prince George. His commitment to the community extends far beyond council meetings, it is woven into his everyday life.

As a former entrepreneur and educator, Garth understands the opportunities and challenges facing local families and businesses. His experience in municipal leadership, combined with strong relationships built across local, provincial, and national organizations, has helped him advocate for investments and opportunities that benefit Prince George.

Those who know Garth describe him as thoughtful, approachable, and respectful. He believes leadership isn’t about seeking recognition, it’s about earning trust, building relationships, and bringing people together to achieve the best results.

Taking Achievable Action

A poor leader will seek attention and accolades.
A better leader will state their vision, and seek to bring everyone toward achieving the vision.
A great leader will listen to residents, and develop a shared vision of a goal, ensure everyone understands the trade-offs to achieving that goal, and work to build it.
